June 2011

Thanks to Jen for securing the Small Neighbourhood grant.  Garibaldi students involved in the project have now done their observations, research and writing.   The Grade 4 students, Javin, Michael and Jayson have taken a leadership role in planning the signs that will be required.  The signs will be printed on green metal signs with white writing.  It will be the same material used for stop signs.  The plan is to have them printed and posted in July so the kids can do garden tours all summer.

Hopefully we’re getting some watering volunteers.  I’ll be off for summer soon and hoping our little garden will get enough water for a great harvest!

Some photos from our highly successful garden party this weekend! We BBQ’d hot dogs, learned about worms and bugs, dug out some of the edible plants and put them in the stone soup garden. We had some new donations (tomatoes) and moved around the raspberries and planted a bunch of radishes.

Wewould like to do another day like this in june, probably the third weekend in June.
cheers, Anne-marie
